This page explains how Linonym uses cookies and similar technologies such as local storage.
Do we use advertising cookies?
No. The app does not currently set advertising or analytics cookies, and it does not load third-party ad or analytics embeds.
Essential / functional storage
To make the study app work, we use browser local storage (and related browser features) for:
- Language and CEFR settings
- Practice / quiz progress
- Personal notebook phrases
- Install-banner dismiss preference
- Optional PWA / service-worker caching of app assets
These are treated as strictly necessary or functional for providing the service you asked for. A cookie-consent banner is therefore not shown today. If we later add non-essential analytics or marketing cookies, we will add a consent choice before those activate.
Notifications
Browser notification permission is separate from cookies. It is only requested when you enable notifications in Settings.
Managing storage
You can clear site data in your browser settings, which removes local preferences and notes for this origin. Uninstalling the PWA also removes the installed shell on your device.
