Effective 24 September 2026 · Linonym

Linonym is a vocabulary study app operated by Arianna (sole operator — update with registered business name if applicable). Contact: ariannagaray.dev@gmail.com.

What we collect

By design, Linonym keeps study data on your device. We do not run user accounts, and we do not currently send your vocabulary notes, settings, or quiz history to our servers.

  • Settings, practice stats, and personal notebook phrases — stored in your browser's local storage so the app remembers preferences and notes.
  • Optional notifications — only if you grant browser permission; notification content is generated on your device.
  • Hosting logs — our host (e.g. Vercel) may process standard technical request data such as IP address, user agent, and timestamps needed to deliver the website. We do not use that for advertising profiles.

What we do not collect (today)

  • No marketing email list signup form
  • No payment or billing details
  • No third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the app
  • No sale of personal information

Why we process information

Device-local storage is used to provide the service you request (remembering languages, CEFR filters, notes, and quiz progress). Hosting logs are processed as needed to operate and secure the website.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. Infrastructure providers that host the static app may process technical request data under their own terms. Personal notebook content stays in your browser unless you export or sync it yourself through your device.

Retention & deletion

Clear site data in your browser (or remove the installed PWA) to delete local settings, stats, and notebook phrases. You can also delete individual notebook entries in the Notes tab.

Children

Linonym is a general language-study tool. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). Do not knowingly submit a child's personal information.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the UK GDPR, EU GDPR, Australian Privacy Act, or Philippine Data Privacy Act), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information. Because most study data never leaves your device, many requests are handled by clearing local data. For host-log questions, email ariannagaray.dev@gmail.com.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product changes (for example if accounts or analytics are added). The effective date above will change when we do.

These pages are practical templates for a local-first study app. They are not legal advice. Have a qualified professional review them for your jurisdiction (To be confirmed by operator (e.g. Australia / Philippines / United Kingdom)) before relying on them.
